S1 E7: He'll Do It For You Too.

Updated: Oct 4, 2019

Alright guys listen...in business sometimes things can get really uncomfortable! But it still needs to be addressed, right?

You know... the longer I exist in the creative industry, the more I witness how the rise of one can give you the feeling of sitting on the sideline waiting for your turn.

I've chatted with several creative professionals who feel like they're putting in the work, being obedient and answering their call—but for some reason their not receiving that "clout" or the shine that they're looking for.

I get it, because I've sometimes had those feelings too! Like, dang God...I know I am giving this thing my best, why haven't I hit a $mil yet, right?

Can I be the first to tell you, your blessing may look totally different from the blessing of someone else...simply because your NEEDS are different. Your purpose is different. And the way God wants to use you, is way different from how He is using another.

I get it, we're human and sometimes turning off those feelings of maybe jealousy is not as simple as hitting a light switch. I mean, what you feel is what you feel, right?

But what if I told you, that being genuinely happy and praying for another may be the entry into your blessing?!

I looked at Marie Forleo's IG the other day, and she posted a post that said:

The antidote for disappointment & envy is being happy for others.

Let me tell you something...God is all about the heart!

You can't put on for God. He knows what you think. What you feel. And quite frankly, sometimes He's waiting for your heart to align before He can use you the way He needs to.

Oh, I am preaching to myself.

But how can you be focused on aligning your heart when you're steady looking at the next man constantly asking, "why them and not me God?"

Why do they have the house?

Why do they have the husband?

Why do they have the connections?

Why do they have the thriving business?

Why not me?

It's simple. What God has for you, is for you. And while it may look different than what you planned in your mind, He is and He will do it for you too! But you got to get your heart right.

You got to stop being one way in the presence of people, but different behind their backs. You got to stop going through the motions, and actually be present. You got to start praying for those, who frankly ain't praying for you. You got to prove to God that you're ready for what He has in store!

Man, I know this podcast was meant to be because on Sunday Bishop Murphy came from Job 42:10. It says:

10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.

Now if you go read it, you'll realize this was a heart matter! Job had basically questioned God and had to come back with his tail between his legs, like "yo by bad God, I didn't mean that." Listen, Job had to get right with God before God could position him for GREATER, and for double.

See some of us have to come back like, "yo God didn't mean to question what you were cooking up for me...I was just playing."

But all jokes aside.

The battle you're fighting is not with the people God is blessing in front of you. The battle you're fighting is with you heart.

So guys on this one, we're going to pray it out:

Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day! We thank you for being who you are. Our protector, our provider, our constant go to. Today God we pray for a pure heart. A heart that is content with your plans for our lives. Today we bind the spirit of envy, jealousy and that constant question that lingers, "why not me". God we ask that you will put us confidently back on our paths with the understanding that you're cooking up something special. God we thank you. And we love you. Amen.
