The Road to 40: A Year Just for Me

I’ve spent years living in the digital spotlight.

Running multiple businesses meant I was always online—showing up, staying visible, proving that things were happening in my world. My phone was filled with apps that kept me plugged into a constant stream of updates, metrics, and notifications.

Then life shifted. I stepped into a full-time job that no longer required me to “show up” for business every day. And slowly, I began to feel a quiet tug on my heart—a pull away from sharing every moment for external validation.

Yesterday, I removed all the social media apps from my phone.

And as I approach my 39th birthday on Monday 7/7, I’m choosing something different.

This year—the road to 40—isn’t about proving anything to anyone. It’s about building a life that feels grounded, peaceful, and whole…for me.

I want to be a good wife, a present mom, and a fulfilled career woman. I still plan to wear my entrepreneur hat occasionally—selling my handbags at vendor markets for Aubrey Taylor or taking on a client here and there for Iconiq Lab—but only when it feels light and aligned.

More than anything, I’m committing to getting in shape:

  • Mentally

  • Physically

  • Emotionally

  • Financially

  • Spiritually

Not for social media. Not for “likes.” Not because I need to prove I’m still hustling. But because I deserve to thrive in every part of my life.

This blog will be my quiet corner to document this journey. A place to reflect, share insights, and honor the woman I’m becoming on my way to 40.

Here’s to 39—and to a beautiful road ahead.

P.S.

I will still be very active in my FREE community Pivot Pusher Society, so don't hesitate to join the conversation over there! Especially for our Wednesday night Bible studies!
